"San Pedro in the Eyes of," 2014

"San Pedro in the Eyes of," 2014, will be the first photography exhibition curated by Ingrid Dietrich. The exhibition will compile works from 10 artists from different cities of Los Angeles, and it is intended to capture the city of San Pedro from an outsider perspective. The artists will have freedom to choose the photography media they want to use to capture their images (film or digital, color or black and white, photography composites, etc), however, they will only be allowed to present one piece. This exhibition is intended to be available to the public once a year.
"San Pedro in the Eyes of" will open during the San Pedro Convention and Visitors Bureau's grand opening, January 22nd, 2014. The opening night will be a private event, however, the exhibition will be available to the public for one month and during the San Pedro's First Thursday Art walk, February 6th, 2014.

Ingrid Dietrich is a  fashion photographer residing in Culver City and San Pedro.
During 2013, Ingrid Dietrich had the honor to be chosen as the featured artist during the San Pedro International Film Festival, which opened the doors of the city to her. In December 2013, Ingrid gained the position as director of the department of arts through a proposal to attract visitors to the city. Some of the ideas she wants to develop during 2014 are: Art exhibitions featuring works by non-locals, beauty pageant tours and photo-shoots in town, bringing photography students from Colleges and Universities to photograph the city, etc.
Ingrid will be publishing two books in 2014. Both books feature images from the city of San Pedro.
Academic background:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, entrepreneurial training at Santa Monica College, Certificate in Website Design, Certificate in Business from West LA College, 2 years of architecture school, and recently graduated from OTIS College of Art and Design with a major in professional photography.

Jenelle Casarez-Redondo Beach
Jenelle is a talented photographer and graphic designer at studio 22.
Her specialty: night photography, neon, and experimental lighting, as well as street portraiture.

Miguel Bejarano-Whittier
Miguel is a cultural anthropologist graduated from the University of Fullerton and recently graduated from
OTIS College of Art and Design with a major in photography.
Miguel is passionate about culture and landscapes, and he applies this to fashion photography.

Molly Jessica-Venice Beach
Molly is a photographer who enjoys capturing color. Molly is a yoga instructor and her photography  reflects peace
with a touch of modernism and youthful enthusiasm.

Roger Thomas-Manhattan Beach
Roger is a photographer passionate about Asian culture. Roger is one of those photographers who can't miss a
festival. His cultural photography is based in motion and color, however, he explores black and white when he captures landscapes.

Taylor Uttley-Long Beach
Taylor is a youthful photographer. Her style is very open. She experiments with film and its variations such as
double exposures, and two negative images. She is not afraid to play around with pinholes cameras. Her images are colorful,  controversial, and up to interpretation.

Michael Detto-Venice Beach
Michael Detto is a German photographer residing in Venice Beach. His photography immediately captures the attention of the view. He is a traditional photographer but he also experiments with Photoshop to create
stunning images.
Michael recently published a book called "Cambodian Ghosts," in which he portraits images from a trip to Cambodia and the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge, in juxtaposition with the modern life of Cambodians residing in "Little Cambodia, Long beach."

Allan Stansbury-Torrance
Allan is a nature photographer. His work ranges from landscapes, to macro photography. His work has been published several times, and he is currently exhibiting his work at Torrance Museum of Art.
